This is how contemporary, mobile continuing and compulsory education for the housing and real estate industry succeeds

Real estate agents and property managers are required by the Real Estate Agents and Property Developers Ordinance to undergo continuous further training. The EBZ Akademie therefore planned to digitalise its entire range of courses for the housing and real estate industry in order to meet the changing requirements of the upcoming generation. A mobile learning platform was to provide the required knowledge for the continuing education obligation digitally. Independent of time and place. Online and offline.
In addition to the knowledge for compulsory continuing education, a large toolbox of digital learning offers should also be provided for housing companies. Corporate clients were also to be given the opportunity to use their own clients, with which they could carry out user administration and integrate their own content. Extensive reporting functions also had to be customisable so that corporate clients could use the system independently and add their own content.
In the middle of the planning phase, the pandemic burst at the beginning of 2020 and with it massive restrictions for classroom training. The EBZ Akademie got its online academy with Lemon® up and running in a record time of 6 weeks. Find out how this was achieved in this case study.

The challenge

The housing and real estate industry is a modern sector in which a wide variety of legal, technical and economic topics overlap. Companies therefore need specialists who are always up to date in these areas. For this reason there are mandatory further training courses, for example on regulatory topics or on the basis of the Real Estate Agent and Property Developer Ordinance.

Due to the increasing mobility and agility in the working world and the changing requirements of the younger generations, “EBZ Akademie” has been working for years on driving forward the digital transformation of further training and personnel development in the housing and real estate industry. A mobile learning platform should provide the corresponding digital learning offer in the future. In the middle of the search for a suitable platform, the pandemic burst at the beginning of 2020 and with it massive restrictions for classroom training. At the same time, corporate customers became increasingly interested in introducing their own learning platforms. EBZ Akademie also wanted to offer a solution for this aspect.

The solution

Within just six weeks, the EBZ Akademie launched „EBZ4U“ as a mobile learning platform for the housing and real estate industry with over 40 courses. „EBZ4U“ is available as native iOS and Android app in the app stores. An identical browser version allows access via PC. This makes it most convenient to participate in courses from anywhere – both online and offline. In learning videos, web-based trainings (WBT‘s), podcasts and courses with and without learning paths, learners gain access to the educational offering. By means of integrated quiz questions in the WBT or as individual tests between the learning nuggets, EBZ Akademie ensures that what has been learned is internalized.
